Lal Loi is the Sindhi festival which falls on exactly same date every year as per christian calendar, that is 13th of January. This date is to mark the point when Sun goes to south most point which brings winter in Northern Hemisphere. From 13-Jan onwards Sun starts journey back towards Northern Hemisphere.
Lal Loi is celebrated on the 13th of January every year, during Lal Loi children, teenagers bring wood sticks from their grand parents and aunties and Like a fire camp burnt these sticks/wood logs in the night with people enjoying, dancing and playing around fire. Some ladies whose wishes were fulfilled offered coconuts in the fire and distributed prasad 'Sesa' ; this continued till midnight. Some people are distribute Boondi Singar along with Coconut pieces and Revri (Til Sugar preparation).
Punjabis celebrate the same festival but call this as "Lodi". It is found in metropolitan cities Sindhis and Punjabis come together to celebrate this festival, since reason and way of celebration quite same.
