Gidwani was India's additional director general of tourism and director general of civil aviation till 1978. He served as India's counsel at the International Court of Justice at the Hague and as representative of India on the council of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), United Nations from 1978 to 1981.

Bhagwan S. Gidwani was born in Sindh of Undivided India in year 1923. He was the son of Shamdas Partabrai Gidwani and Dhamibai Shamdas Sadarangani. He did his education from D.J. Sindh College and University of Bombay B.A. 1943 (First Rank in province) S.C.S. Law college L.L.B. 1945 (First Class first rank in university)

Gidwani was India's additional director general of tourism and director general of civil aviation till 1978. He served as India's counsel at the International Court of Justice at the Hague and as representative of India on the council of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), United Nations from 1978 to 1981.


Bhagwan S. Gidwani left for heavenly abode on 22st August, 2020 in Saratoga Springs, NY, USA at the age of 97. He was at home & in bed and passed peacefully & painless.

Bhagwan S. Gidwani was married to (Late) Leila Gidwani Punwani. He is survived by his two sons Manu (Lori) and Sachal (Anju) Gidwani and 6 grandchildren Leah, Katy, Jay, Neil, Chris, and Kyle.


Author of books

  3. Return of he Aryans;
  4. March of the Aryans.

TV Serial

  • Wrote Script, Screen-Play and dialogues for TV Serial on The Sword of Tipu Sultan, in 52 episodes - telecast in India for several years continuously and is being re-run now for the eleventh time. Also telecast in West Asia, Europe, U.K., and U.S.A.

Films

  • Assisted in writing Script for "Sultanat" and other Hindi films.

Career

Served as:

  • India’s Additional Director General of Tourism, and Director General of Civil Aviation in India (1973-1978);
  • Representative of India on ICAO Council, Montreal, (1979-1981),
  • Director of Legal Bureau of ICAO (United Nations), Montreal from 1981 to 1985.

Also served as Counsel for India at the International Court of Justice at The Hague; and

  • Negotiated India's Air Transport Agreements with foreign governments;
  • On assignment from International Civil Aviation Organization, wrote Guidelines for International Air Law Experts, and served as Adviser to Foreign Governments.
