Constitution of India in Sindhi Language re-released in 2026

On the occasion of Sindhi Bhasha Diwas on April 10, 2026, Shri C. P. Radhakrishnan, the Hon’ble Vice-President of India, unveiled the revised edition of the Constitution of India in the Sindhi language, presented in both Devanagari Script (First edition) and Sindhi Script (Second edition) during a ceremony held at the Vice President’s Enclave.

The event was attended by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Hon’ble Minister of State (I/C) for Law and Justice, Shri Vasudev Devnani, the Hon’ble Speaker of the Rajasthan Assembly, Shri Shankar Lalwani, Hon’ble MP (Lok Sabha), and Dr. Rajiv Mani, Secretary of the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law & Justice, along with senior officials from the Department and distinguished individuals and scholars of the Sindhi Language. About 150 eminent guests were invited from the Sindhi Community to witness this historic moment.

This occasion represented a significant advancement in making the nation’s foundational document, in its updated form, available in a greater number of regional languages. The Hon’ble Vice-President commended the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice, for their efforts in ensuring the distribution of the updated version of the Constitution of India in the languages spoken by the populace of the country.

In a written message for the occasion, which was read by Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent charge) for Law and Justice, Shri Narendra Modi, the Hon’ble Prime Minister, acknowledged the significance of linguistic inclusivity in enhancing citizens' access to the Constitution and laws. He praised the Legislative Department for their work in producing the updated version of the Constitution in Sindhi.

Shri Arjun Ram Meghwal, the Hon’ble Minister of State (Independent charge) for Law and Justice, emphasized the Government’s commitment to making the Constitution accessible in all scheduled languages and elaborated on the history of the Sindhi language and its inclusion in the Eighth Schedule of the Constitution of India in year 1967. He also highlighted the remarkable contributions and pioneering initiatives of Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee, former Prime Minister of India & Shri L.K. Advani, former Deputy Prime Minister of India in this regard.


Constitution of India in Sindhi Language released in 1998

Historical event. Indian Institute of Sindhology translated the Indian Constitution in Sindhi and Shri Atal Bihari Vajpaee ji [ PM] Released it on 27 July 1998. Shri K r Malkani, Shri Ram Jethmalani, Suresh Keswani, Dada Murij Manghnani, Dr. Moti Prakash and others attended the ceremony in Delhi.
