Acharya Kripalani

Jivatram Bhagwandas Kripalani born on 11th November, 1888 in Hyderabad, Sindh (Undivided India), popularly known as Acharya Kripalani, was an Indian politician, noted particularly for holding the presidency of the Indian National Congress during the transfer of power in 1947 and the husband of Sucheta Kripalani.

Sucheta Kripalani was first woman Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh.

He did his education from Bombay MA History & Economics. He met with Mahatma Gandhi in year 1917 during Champaran Satyagraha. He played key role in Bharat Choro Andolan and went to British jail many times. His thoughts never matched with Jawaharlal Nehru & Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, but he continued to work with them.

He left for heavenly abode on 19 March 1982 at the age of 94 years.
