Mac Mohan / Mohan Makijany

Mac Mohan (born Mohan Makijany) was a renowned Indian character actor best remembered for playing Sambha in the classic Hindi film Sholay. Although he had only a few lines in the movie, his portrayal became iconic in Indian cinema. He was born on 24 April, 1938 Karachi, British India. After India's partition in 1947 his family shifted to Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Sindhi Pronunciation is Mohan Makhijani

He left for heavenly abode on 10th May, 2010 in Mumbai after long battle with Lung Cancer.

His father used work in British Army the reason he had very disciplined life.

His hair Style and beard became iconic because of which he received roles in many films. Mohan Makhijany's mother side family was Chandiramani whose grand daughter Poonam Sinha Chandiramani is married to Shatrughan Sinha.

He started his Hindi Cinema career in year 1964 with the Film Haqeeqat a Chetan Anand Film. He has worked in more than 200 films out of that his notable films are Sholay, Don, Raffu Chakkar, Karz, Shaan, Zanjeer Satte pe Satta. He has done many Indian languages films and International films like English, Russian & Spanish Language.

His portrayal of Sambha, the quiet accomplice of Gabbar Singh, stands out as one of the most unforgettable supporting roles in the history of Bollywood. Even now, lines featuring Sambha are often cited in contemporary popular culture.

His Sister Veena Makijany who is married to Ravi Tondon and they have daughter Raveena Tondon. That way he is mama of Raveena Tondon. He married Dr. Minny (South Indian) in year 1986 and has two daughters Manjari and Vinati and son Vikrant.
